Journal Entry:

My time in Belfast hasn’t ended just yet, but I’m sad to say goodbye to you all as my Reach the World journey comes to a close. I've had the best time meeting with you all and sharing my life here while exploring Irish culture together, much like I did when I first moved to Northern Ireland.

Since I’m finishing up my Master’s degree, I have to write what’s known as a dissertation before I leave. It’s about 12,000 words on whatever topic I like that has to do with my program. As you all know, I’ve been studying Human Rights Law, so I’ll be finishing my work here with research on human rights in Afghanistan.

Of course, my work for school was intense and took up much of my time in Belfast, but I still managed to see a lot of beautiful parts of Ireland! Giant’s Causeway, Derry and some parts of the South Island of Ireland will be in my memory forever! Nature here is very different to Florida as we’ve discussed, so while I miss the swamps, manatees and alligators, the diversity helps me appreciate Ireland in a new way. Visiting somewhere very different from home can make you aware of lifestyle changes that you probably wouldn’t realize without leaving!
