In South Korea, many traditions show how people celebrate family, respect and community. Many of their traditions are old, like wearing hanbok (traditional Korean outfit), bowing to and respecting elders, celebrating Seollal (Lunar New Year's) and Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) and sharing food with family. Other traditions are newer and fun, like Children’s Day, where families celebrate children with gifts, trips and special activities. There is also Black Day on April 14, where people eat black noodles called jajangmyeon (ja-jaang-meyun). These traditions show South Korean values in family, respect, food and having fun together.
