Journal Entry:

As I say goodbye, I want to leave you with something I hope stays with you for the rest of your lives: a challenge to go out and see the world.
As I have traveled through Ghana, I haven't just seen beautiful landscapes and tasted incredible food. I have met people whose lives looked very different from mine, and yet we laughed together, worked side by side and understood each other in ways that no textbook could ever teach. That experience has changed me, and travel like that can change you, too.
Go. Explore. Be curious. Whether it’s a neighboring town or a country on the other side of the globe, every new place has something to teach you. Here's what I really want you to remember: the most meaningful part of travel isn’t the sights you see—it’s the people you serve. When you show up for a community, whether it’s yours or one far from home, you grow in ways you never expected. Service builds empathy, humility and strength. It shapes you into the kind of person that every field—medicine, business, art, education, engineering—desperately needs.
Understanding the world and the people we share it with isn’t just a nice thing to do. It’s a superpower. It will make you a better doctor, a better entrepreneur, a better artist, a better friend.
Travel feeds your mind and your soul.
