"One goodbye less" - Europe Holidays

Introduction:

For the first time, I spent the holidays away from my family. I didn't know what to expect since it was just too weird not being in the house I've spent Christmas in all my life, with the people I've always been with. Thankfully, I got to reconnect with friends from school, and we spent the days together, which made us forget a little bit that we were far from our homes, letting us enjoy the moment and be grateful for spending it together.

What tradition did I learn about?:

The best part of my holidays in Paris was the Christmas markets; there are many around the city, all with the same concept of selling food and gifts, like jewelry, winter clothes, perfumes and many more. I went to a few of them with my friends. Something popular to eat in these markets is the churros with chocolate, mostly Nutella. People wait in long lines to buy these. Another popular French meal is the raclette, a type of cheese also popular in Switzerland; in the markets, they served it in bread. A little too cheesy for me, but cheese is something French people never miss, in any form and flavor.

For New Year's, I traveled to Madrid, Spain and visited a friend from school. That was my first time in the city, and it was super cool and very different from Paris; Madrid is smaller, but it has magic too.
