It has been such a pleasure to be connected with this class and to share some of my journey and experiences as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I hope you all enjoyed learning about the Sepedi culture in South Africa and what it means to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer. This classroom is filled with so many curious minds. Keep staying open and asking questions about the world around you. There are so many unique traditions, languages and ways of life in the world. Through learning about other cultures, we learn how to be more kind, understanding and connected to one another.
Education is one of the most powerful tools you will ever have. Doing your best in school helps you build confidence, discover your interests and open doors to opportunities you may not even know exist yet. Continue to work hard, ask for help and believe in yourself!
I will be in South Africa until October 2026, continuing to learn and teach alongside my community.
