Journal Entry:

I cannot believe that this is my final journal article to all of you! I also can’t believe how far I have come. In the beginning, I doubted my ability to even come to South Africa, and now, after living here for four months, I am absolutely loving it and cannot imagine not coming back! I know I’m going to miss so much about Cape Town, including the lively energy, the nature, the amazing mountains, all of the friends I have made here and so much more.

During this journey, I have been able to learn and grow in so many ways, from discovering new wildlife and exploring different landscapes and terrains to learning a lot about balance. I have had to understand that I’m both a student and someone who loves to explore, which means learning a lot about time management, my own limits, when I need to take a break and the importance of different types of rest. I have had to make sure that I can enjoy everything Cape Town has to offer but also still study for exams and keep up with schoolwork. I think I have done a pretty good job at both (if I can pat myself on the back!) because I’ve learned so much, not only academically, but through experience as well.
