Hello, friends! My name is Sasha, and I am so excited to be taking you abroad with me to the Czech Republic! I am from the lovely city of Albany, New York. Even though it’s the capital of New York, we locals like to call the town "Smallbany" because it’s little in comparison to other state capitals and an easy place in which to bump into people you know. When I’m home, some of my favorite things to do are visiting friends, going on nearby hikes and spending time with my family. I have two pets in Albany, a sweet cat named Moxie and an older, blind dog named T.J., who is named after “Trader Joe's,” if you’ll believe it! I also have another cat named Meadow who lives a little farther away with my mom, and she is quite lovely. I’ve always been a big animal fan, and I definitely miss them all while abroad.
After my Albany education was finished, I decided to study at Emerson College, a small liberal arts school in Boston. For many reasons, Emerson did not end up being the right fit for me. I was studying creative writing, the major of my choice and passion, and I met my current best friend, but the environment was not one in which I could really thrive, so during my first winter break, I filled out forms to transfer.
