Welcome to my Journey in Prague!

where? I had always wanted to visit Rome, but I had traveled to Venice a couple of years prior with my family, the only time I’d been outside of the U.S., and I wanted to travel to a city in a country with a culture that was completely foreign to me. Perhaps Amsterdam? Or a city all the way in New Zealand? I was unsure, so I decided to ask some people for advice

My family and friends were eager to tell me about their experiences abroad and, no matter the location, I enjoyed listening to stories about their adventures and historical landmarks. The city that got mentioned the most was Prague. None of the people I know had lived or studied in Prague but everyone expressed great enthusiasm for their two or three-day excursion to the city. I heard many friends lament how short their stay had been and that they wished they’d stayed longer. And so, after some research, I decided to fulfill that dream myself.

That is how I ended up here, in the Czech Republic, studying Humanities courses (subjects surrounding art and culture) and eating Czech food and meeting some really lovely people. I am abroad with an organization called C.E.A .C.A.P.A. (one of many college study abroad programs) and am doing a dual residency by studying in classes both hosted by C.E.A. C.A.P.A. and Charles University, one of the oldest universities in the world. I have only been here for a handful of weeks, but I am looking forward to sharing my experiences and travels to come. Thank you for joining me on this trip!
