What's the most exciting place you've ever traveled? Recently, my friends and I had some time off of school for Lunar New Year, so we spent about 3 weeks exploring some of the other countries in Southeast Asia. We planned an incredible trip to visit the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand, and it was such an amazing experience! We love to travel together, so we've gotten pretty good at figuring out where to go, how to get there, and what to do when we arrive. You could say we have traveling down to a science! Like any good scientists, we always follow the scientific method when we plan our trips and head out for an adventure.
We start by making observations about a place, like, "the Philippines has a lot of marine life" or "there are a lot of beautiful temples to see in Thailand." This helps us decide where we want to travel to and figure out what questions we need to ask as we do more research. Once we pick somewhere to visit, we gather lots of background information by asking people who have been there before and searching the internet to learn more about the place.
After some initial research, there are a few really important questions that we have to ask ourselves as we start planning our trip.
