SB: Bioinformatics is where computer science and biology meet. It was a relatively new field of science during my undergraduate time. My ambition was to become a medical doctor. But unfortunately, the competition was so fierce that I could not get a medical or veterinary program placement. Because I grew up in the lower middle class, I needed to stick to a locally available education that was affordable and reasonable. So in 2002, I joined a Bachelor's course in fishery science, and that is how my real academic journey started.
