Hello, everyone! My name is Hajar. I am 24 years old, but sometimes I feel like I’m a ten-year-old girl. I still watch Barbie all the time (she’s my favorite!), and I go to the movie theatre whenever a new Disney movie comes out. Everyone who knows me tells me that I have a young soul because I’m always curious about everything and like to have fun. I was born in New York City and spent my childhood with people from all over the world.
I remember how my classmates and I used to talk about where we wanted to travel when we grew up, but I never could decide on just one place because I used to look up so many countries on my computer and write down a long list of where I wanted to go. When I was eight years old, I watched a documentary that talked about Seoul: the capital of South Korea. It showed how beautiful the city was and talked about its culture, language and people. It seemed very different and exciting to me and it made me want to visit it in the future. I then promised myself that I would study and work hard to achieve my dream. It’s been 17 years since I’ve had that dream, and now the time has finally come. I've been in South Korea for a month already and have done so many exciting things. I can't wait to explore more places and have you join me on my journey.
