I’m doing an exchange program with Dongguk University. It’s a very well-known college in South Korea in central Seoul. It was established in 1906 (so very old, I know) by an Association of Buddhism Research. Everywhere you go, you find beautiful Buddhist statues and temples. The University's symbol is an elephant so we have a big elephant statue at the entrance too. It makes the college look so beautiful.
The University is so big and is located on top of a mountain so there are always a lot of hills and stairs to get to your classes. On the first few days, I would get to my classes late because I would get tired and out of breath going uphill, but now that I got used to it and learned the shortcuts. I feel like I’m working out and getting stronger.
My major is Media Production and Cultural Studies. I’m taking five different classes here so my workload is pretty busy, but the environment and the friends I’ve met here make it more exciting and fun to attend college every day.
My favorite thing about being at University here is the activities. In the first week of this semester, there was a club fair and it was so much fun. There were lots of food carts at the fair, and singers, rappers and dancers on the stage.
