Hello guys! So, today’s journal is definitely bittersweet. On one hand, I’m really happy that I got to know all of you, got to share my experience in Europe, and reconnect with the same classroom I once sat in. At the same time, I would be lying if I didn't say I was at least a little sad to say goodbye.
Studying abroad has truly been one of the best decisions of my life. It has changed me in ways I didn’t even expect. Traveling is a privilege, and I’ve been lucky enough to visit so many places that many of us only hear about in movies or books. And I have been able to bring you guys with me! Together, we’ve seen the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Colosseum in Rome, the villages of Switzerland, the beaches of the Canary Islands, the cathedrals in Lisbon, the mountains in Morocco and, of course, the beauty of Spain.
Right now, as I’m writing this, it’s 7:22 AM (Madrid time), and I’m on a high-speed train heading to the Spanish city of Sevilla. This wasn’t a trip I planned on taking, partly because it’s finals week, but also because I didn’t think it was necessary. What changed my mind? My friends Mary and Emilio did! I knew they’d be visiting me, and after they arrived for their two-week stay in Madrid, we decided to take a last-minute trip to one of the oldest and most important places in Spain.
