Right now, Soc Trang is experiencing its dry season, so the weather has been mostly dry, sunny and hot since the season began in the middle of November. There are two seasons in southern Vietnam: the dry season and the wet or rainy season. The rainy season usually begins near the end of April and the beginning of May. You will not see any rain in Soc Trang until that time.
For most of this week, there hasn't been much wind. That means that you notice the heat here as soon as you step outside. It is a good idea to stay hydrated and be in places where there are fans and air conditioning.
This week, I've been spending a lot of time with my friend Ly Da and all of the animals she and her family take care of. She has seven dogs and currently one cat, although a group of cats also comes to Ly Da's house every evening looking for food.
