We are currently on a stretch sailing from Morocco to Brazil. The weather was pretty sunny up until a few days ago when it began to get rainy and windy. Even the ocean has picked up, making the boat rocky at times. When we departed Morocco on September 27th, it was sunny, the waters were calm and there was only a slight breeze. However, as we have gotten closer to the equator, it has become rainy and cloudy. The swells have grown so intense that the ship is rocking violently. Even walking down the hallway to class is a struggle, which makes me remember that we are actually attending school on a ship. Even then, it’s hard to believe! The wind has picked up so much that the volleyball courts and even the entire front deck have been closed. We are supposed to arrive in Brazil in a few days, so we will see how the weather changes as we get closer to land!
