When we arrived at Siem Reap, around 8PM, the skies were cloudy with no rain. Still, there was lightning in the distance, and I got to watch from above, by the balcony poolside of our hotel. I thought the way the clouds softly moved amongst the sharp lightning was very cool and beautiful. It allowed me to reflect on my joy for travelling.
Our days in Siam Reap were sunny, which confused me because in Thailand, during the rainy season, there are many clouds and heavy showers. So, I thought we were in the clear --- until we got to our last day and it rained so heavily in the streets that shops lost power. My friends and I laughed in the darkness until a backup generator could turn back on the power.
