The grasslands are devoid of trees, so the mountains rise sharply from the landscape.
For our field work, we went out to some experiment sites that are being used to test methods of making the grassland grow more grass for the cows to eat. We measured the humidity of the soil and the grasses as part of a multi-year study, which aims to help farmers better manage their herds and the environment they use.
