This week I traveled about eight hours from Rio to Belo Horizonte. I made it to a new state, named Minas Gerais.
So far on this journey, I’ve traveled from California to Rio de Janeiro, then to São Paulo and Belo Horizonte. Altogether, that’s thousands of miles, and it’s been amazing seeing how different each city feels.
I mostly biked and took Ubers this week, but Uber Moto is still my favorite. It’s fast, affordable and makes getting around Rio way more exciting.
The most interesting place I visited this week was Instituto Inhotim, and honestly, it felt like the Disneyland of Brazil. It’s a massive open-air museum surrounded by tropical gardens, lakes and hills. Every path led to a new surprise, with huge modern art installations, colorful sculptures and beautiful plants everywhere. It was so peaceful but also exciting at the same time, like nature and art coming together in the best way. Hands down, it was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been.
