Traveler Bio

Sa wa dee ka

My name is Nandita Kumar, and I am a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Thailand. I am 22 years old, and recently graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a B.S. in Public Policy. I grew up in both New Jersey and Texas, which allowed me to experience many different cultures. I love reading, creating art, spending time with friends and family, and exploring the great outdoors.

I love reading because it teaches me new things, and I love traveling for the same reason. Some of my favorite activities are trying new foods and exploring new towns. Thailand is famous for its variety of delicious foods, including soups, curries, and rice dishes. They also have delicious desserts like mango sticky rice - my favorite!

This year, I will be a teacher at Wat Khuan Wiset school in Trang Province, Thailand. It's a small city in the Southern region, about an hour from the coast. I’m so excited to share my journey with you all. Come along with me as I navigate teaching, try new things, visit different areas, and learn more about Thailand!

Fun Fact: Thailand is known as the ‘Land of the Smiles’ because Thai people are famously very friendly!
