I knew that soccer or fútbol was something Spain was very passionate about, especially after recently winning the World Cup. One of my favorite teams growing up was always Real Madrid, mainly because of Cristiano Ronaldo. They also hold the record for the most La Liga and Champions League titles. When I found out they were playing Elche, the closest La Liga team to where I live, I knew I had to see them. The game and atmosphere did not disappoint. Fans never stopped chanting, something I'd never experienced at a sporting event in America. I got to see famous players like Mbappé, Bellingham, Vinícius Jr., and even legendary manager José Mourinho. Real Madrid went up 2-0 before Elche came back to tie it 2-2 around the 80th minute. However, Real Madrid scored the winner in the 93rd minute to make it 3-2! Experiencing Spain's love for fútbol has truly been a childhood dream come true.
