At home, I have two cats, Meadow and Moxie, and a dog named T.J. I don't have any animals here, sadly, but I'm definitely excited to see my pets when I get home.
I've been lucky enough to travel pretty often while here. So far, I've been to Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Austria, Portugal, and, most recently, Hungary. I've also traveled a lot around the Czech Republic, which has been super fun, because the little towns here are beautiful! This upcoming weekend, I'm excited to be going to Greece, so I'll give you an update about that for sure! I met a lovely Greek friend at my hostel in Poland, and she invited me to stay with her in Athens, so I'm super excited.
At my home college, I'm a writing tutor, and I've actually continued doing that virtually while here. In that job, I help peers brainstorm, write and revise their papers for class. It's really rewarding, and I'm happy to have the opportunity to continue doing that even while abroad, even though the time difference makes scheduling a little hard. Here, I volunteer at a local daycare right near my apartment. The kids and staff are sweet and I've been enjoying my time getting to know everyone and helping out the teachers.
I hope that you definitely go abroad one day! If my experience shows you anything, it's that change is an important and fun part of growing up! This experience has definitely allowed me to develop and learn more about myself along the way.
