Traveler Bio

Bonjour, or, hello to all my new friends back in the U.S.A!! My name is Molly Malloy, and I am so excited to get to share my journey with you all. I am from Atlanta, Georgia, a big city in the deep South. When I finished high school, I wanted a change of scenery, so I moved to Massachusetts for college! I go to a small school called Mount Holyoke College in the Western part of the state, where I study Environmental Studies and Politics. When I was the same age as you all are now, I spent a lot of time outside, climbing trees and going to camp, which made me love nature and protecting our planet. As I got older, I began to consider how people’s interactions with each other around the world changed the environment, and that’s why I decided to study those two fields!

While at college, I learned about an opportunity to go to Geneva, Switzerland, a city about 4,600 miles away from my home in Atlanta. This sounded so exciting, but it was a much bigger change than moving to Massachusetts! I thought about it for a while, and had a lot of support from my friends and family, so I decided to apply. From August until December, I will be in Switzerland studying International Relations, which is the fancy term for how people all around the world make decisions that shape our present and future. I even get to focus on the environment and how people can live their lives in a way that keeps our planet happy and healthy.
