Hi! I am Mikayla, Jude’s older sister and Mrs.Fischer’s oldest daughter! And I am in Spain!! It took a long time to get here, 3 flights and 4 days, but I am having a blast here learning about acting, and meeting new people from all over the world. I am super excited to get to know all of you!! I have been here for a week now and have tried so many different types of food, but my favorite so far has been tapas (taw-paws) se llaman croquetas (they’re called croquetas)!
I tried a tapa called croquetas de queso. It is a fried ball of béchamel (a sauce made from butter, flour and milk) with cheese in the middle.
My roomate (Arden, you will hear more about her in other journals, and articles, I promise!) and I went to a restaurant right by the water, and it was so weird because people in Spain eat at a different time than we do in the States. They eat dinner here at 8-9pm, which neither Arden nor I is used to, so we were eating at 5pm! No one was at this restaurant so early in the evening, so we had the whole place to ourselves. When our food came out, I took a bite, and it was very hot in my mouth, so I had to blow on my second bite.
