Sharing Small Plates: My Delicious Tapas Adventure in Spain

Introduction:

Welcome to my food adventures in Spain!

One of the best ways to learn about a new culture is through its food. Everyone needs to eat, and sharing a meal is a universal experience that brings people together no matter where you are in the world!

In Spain, eating isn't just about finishing a plate. It’s a social event where friends gather for hours to sip coffee, and share lots of small, tasty dishes called tapas. Get ready to dive into what makes Spanish food culture so special, learn how foods from around the world can bring people together, and how local ingredients come from the land!

What food did I try?:

Here in Spain, people love to eat tapas! Tapas are very small plates of food that friends share together. Along with tapas, everyone here is always drinking delicious coffee throughout the day!

You can find tapas served all across Spain. Some of the most popular items people order are croquetas (crispy fried bites with a savory filling), tortilla española (a potato omelet, not to be mistaken for a Mexican tortilla!), patatas bravas (fried potato cubes drizzled with spicy sauce), plates of cured meats and cheeses, and montaditos (tiny open-faced sandwiches with fun fillings!).
