I am still debating whether I’d like to join the army or navy. Once I am done with my service in the military, I hope to participate in the Peace Corps so that I can continue to travel while helping others. According to their website, "the Peace Corps is a service opportunity for motivated changemakers to immerse themselves in a community abroad, working side by side with local leaders to tackle the most pressing challenges of our generation."
I believe that studying abroad in Belgium is a great opportunity that is going to help me grow and be successful in my future careers. I chose to study abroad in Belgium because it is a beautiful European country with a rich history. It is a founding member of the European Union, which hosts its headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. Additionally, there are several important political institutions such as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the European Commission and the European Council situated in Brussels, Belgium's capital. Since I am a criminal justice major and have a concentration in legal studies, I will be able to observe the politics and justice system of a very influential country and compare it to the system and politics in the United States. Besides these reasons, I have also taken about five years of French classes, and studying abroad in Belgium means that I will be able to practice and better my French skills while tasting delicious French cuisine too!
