Bonjour les amis!! (Hello Friends!!) My name is Mechelle Johnson-Reeves, but you can call me Mechelle or MJ. I love working out, cooking, and listening to all genres of music (except techno~). I'm proudly from Waldorf, Maryland, and currently attend Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania, where I study international business with concentrations in economics and French. Growing up, I developed a strong curiosity about how the world works, especially how people, cultures, and economies connect. In college, I have been involved in leadership and advocacy work, helping to support students and create meaningful change within my campus community.
Eager to expand my understanding of the world beyond the classroom, I applied for and was fortunate to receive the Gilman Scholarship to study abroad in Malta. Currently, I am living in Malta, a Mediterranean island filled with rich history, diverse cultures, and incredible landscapes. While here, I am studying at the University of Malta, exploring historic cities, and learning from people with different perspectives and experiences.
I am excited to share what I am learning and experiencing each day. From cultural traditions to everyday life and visiting other countries! I hope to give you a glimpse into what it is like to live and study in a new country. I look forward to bringing you along on this journey and hearing about your own experiences throughout the rest of the school year.
