A Visit to One of the Oldest Natural History Museums in the World

Photos

Does anyone know what the large, red animal is painted on the glass of the main entrance?
Once inside I bought my ticket, which came with the museum logo stamped on the front (in green)
As I entered, I was met with this massive skeleton floating above me—can you guess what kind of animal it belonged to?
The main room in the building is called the Grand Gallery of Evolution
This floor was swarming with visitors—and taxidermy (animal remains that have been stuffed and preserved)!
What continent do you think all of these animals behind me came from?
Some of my favorite museum displays were the smaller ones, including these awesome butterflies and moths from around the world
Another of the small displays contained different types of shells from around the world (including the largest, the giant clam)
