Traveler Bio

Hi! My name is Marissa, and I am an English as a second language teacher from Roanoke, Virginia. I have spent the past six years teaching English to students from many different countries. Over the years, I have taught students from Latin America, Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. I've learned just as much from my students as I have taught them! One of my favorite parts of teaching is helping students connect language to the real world through stories, travel, and friendship.

I am always planning my next trip, wanting to get outside of my comfort zone and explore new places. I have visited Italy, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico. I had the time of my life! I believe that travel is one of the best ways to understand others. Every country, community, and person has a unique story to tell. I am excited to share my experiences and introduce you to new people and places.

When I am not teaching or traveling, I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, watching movies, and spending time with my cats.

I can't wait to connect with you, answer your questions, and take you along on this journey. Let's go!
