Hej Hej Copenhagen!

There’s something so special about how easy it’s been to build community here.

I’ve also gotten used to how easy it is to get around. I can take the metro almost anywhere or just walk to where I need to go. It’s made me appreciate how a city can be designed to make life feel more connected and convenient, and I hope the US is more like this one day.

One of my favorite parts has been trying new foods. I have learned about different ingredients and meals, and I am excited to cook some of them when I go back home to Minnesota. I know certain tastes and smells, along with little things like words, phrases, and jokes I picked up from friends, will always remind me of my time in Copenhagen.

As wonderful as this experience has been, I do miss my friends and family back home. I miss the familiar streets of my hometown and especially the delicious pho near my university.

I’ve really enjoyed writing these blog posts for you. I wouldn’t normally take so many photos, but knowing I could share my journey with you encouraged me to be more thoughtful about capturing moments. Writing these posts has also helped me reflect on everything I have experienced. I hope that through my stories, I’ve been able to show you a little bit of what it’s like to live in another country, and even inspire you to travel someday too. And when you do, make sure to apply for all the scholarships you're eligble for. They are an incredible resource and are what made this entire experience possible (especially the Gilman scholarship).

Thank you Gary for connecting with me and thank you for being such a wonderful audience. I’ve loved meeting with you. You’ve all been curious, thoughtful, and fun to talk to.
