A trip to the land of Chinggis Khan

Chinggis Khan, the leader of the Mongol Empire, was born in the province of Khentii. About six hours east of Ulaanbaatar, it is famous for its horses and its vast emptiness!

Have you ever been this close to a galloping herd of horses?
All throughout Khentii, you will see herds of horses movingg together in the distance.
Herders keep the horses moving by guiding them with lassos.
A parade of children on horses. Take a look at their traditional clothes!
This was the coolest show I've ever seen. They set up a stage and microphones in the middle of the steppe!
These dancers are wearing the outfits you may have seen in Mongolia hundreds of years ago! I especially like the long earrings.
It's interesting to see how the horses have their own facial expressions.
Did I mention that Mongolia has more horses than people? This event in Khentii was to celebrate the Mongolian people's relationship to their horses.
