The trash collection truck stays two or three minutes at each spot, so you better not be late! The trash in my neighborhood comes at 7:55 pm, but sometimes we walk to a farther away location that comes at 7:15. We are lucky to have a collection spot very close to our apartment. Other people have to scooter to their closest location. There are two trucks: trash and recycling. The trash comes every day except Sunday, but the recycling only comes Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We also compost here in Taiwan, so we collect our food waste in a tin. We have to pour the compost in a separate trash can on the truck. Trash collection time is like a community event! We chat with our neighbors, and play games while we wait for the truck. Do you think this type of trash collection could work in America?
