Pauline the Art Professor

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I speak French, English and a little bit of Spanish. We say "Bonjour" (prounounced "bon-jor"). We can also say "Salut" (prounounced "sal-oo") or "Allo". (prounounced "ello").

Do you have pets?:

I do not have any pets. I do have a bird feeder for wild birds though. It makes me happy to see them coming back each day.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

I have traveled a lot. I have traveled all around Europe including to Spain, Italy, Germany and Amsterdam. I've also been to Morocco, Canada and China. I love going to the United States. I have been all over the East Coast. New York is one of my favorites places to visit because of all the sites to see. I get to go back to the United States in March. I will be visiting New Orleans, Louisiana for three days.

What do you do for work?:

I am an art professor at the Institute for American Universities in Aix-en-Provence. I am also in charge of planning extracurricular activities for the international students.

Is there anything else you would like to say to students in the United States?:

I have a lot of advice for students in the United States.

  • Try to always cultivate art.
  • Be respectful to others.
  • Discover and explore always.
  • Push yourself to always improve and learn about yourself.
  • Say "thank you" and mean it.
  • Always have fun!
