I took a van from Savannakhet south to Pakse to help a friend with her English workshop. It takes about five hours by van between the two cities. When the driver stops to make deliveries on the way, people selling meat skewers and sodas will come on the van to sell their food.
It took me 34 hours to arrive in Laos from Pittsburgh! Right now, I am an hour flight from the capital of Laos.
I drove my shared car to the university and around town. I took a van to Pakse.
I went to the Savannakhet history museum that was filled with incredible artifacts from this area. I saw ancient cutlery, weapons from the Vietnam war, and modern textile art.
