This week, I stayed on Cerro Alegre, a historical hill in Valparaiso, with my partner for Valentine’s Day! We visited many little places that are historically important to the town, but we also got to enjoy a local band, and we danced to classic Chilean songs that are known for their dances. The band was very interesting, as the age range of people who show up to see them was very vast! There were teenagers to elders all enjoying the same music, and were up late just to enjoy the music!
I am planning on taking a small trip sometime very soon to visit my good friend, Nacho, who lives in Concepcion. It is a town that is close to a mining town that I would like to visit for my research. I met a few people from the neighboring town, Lota, at an artisan fair once! I am hoping I can find some more people who would be happy to share their thoughts and experiences with living in a mining town!
