Life Without a Car in Germany

Not only do I get to see new things out the window on every drive, I also feel a sense of relief knowing that my travel has a smaller negative impact on the environment than driving a car does. Plus, trains can be quite comfortable as long as they aren't too crowded.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

Absolutely! Germany is full of compact cities and tiny villages, and they need some way for people to travel between them. If everyone had a car, there wouldn't be enough space to park them all. Additionally, Germany cares a lot about the environment (which is why I need a color-coded chart to sort the recycling), so they try to incentivize public transport while deincentivizing cars. Many aspects of owning a car a quite expensive. They need regular emissions tests, getting a license often costs over €2000 and gas is quite pricey as well. All in all, public transportation is a much better option for someone like me.
