Love is one of the most incredible yet strange feelings in the world. It makes you do things you normally wouldn't. It makes you feel things you didn't think you could feel. And my first love is classical music. I mean that in the most serious way possible! I only hope that you also find something that you can fall in love with.
Now I'll say it again for the people in the back: I am deeply in love with classical music. I love the way it can move people. The way it communicates complicated feelings. And how it inspired me to be the best version of myself. It all started when I was in 8th grade.
My family had just moved to Hawai'i. My father is a commander in the US Navy, so if the government says we're going then that's that. I was actually unwilling to join the middle school orchestra, but my mother convinced me to do it. Once we got into the school year, orchestra became the center of my life. It was where all my friends were. During my birthday, I only invited other kids from orchestra and we had an orchestra themed party! So at Aliamanu Middle School, I fell in love with music as a whole, especially the violin. I was so amazed that such a tiny instrument could express such powerful emotions!
At the very last day of the school year, my teacher assigned us a final assignment: write a composition for you to perform on your instrument in front of the class.
