The Memories We Bring Back

B had been with me from the very beginning and, if you look back at an older Journal, you will find a very similar photo of us entering Hong Kong together. It was very hard to say goodbye to such an amazing friend who helped translate for me and challenged me to be a better teacher. V has the biggest heart of anyone I've ever known. She is able to speak Cantonese and always knew the best places to go for food! She is so hardworking and yet never hesitated to help B and me if we had a question. When or if you want to go abroad, I hope you can find a friend as good as they were to travel with and learn from!

This was my first time abroad and, as I boarded the plane, I prayed a quiet "thank you" for all of the people I got to meet and for all of the adventures I got to have. I watched plenty of movies and listened to countless songs on my flight home. I scrolled through the pictures of my journey and could not stop smiling. It's hard for me to believe that I was living in Hong Kong for four months! I had always dreamed of traveling abroad as a kid and I was finally blessed enough for it to come true. Traveling helps to give you a whole new perspective and you get to see the world through someone else's eyes if you let yourself. It is increasingly important to learn about life in different parts of the world so you can grow up to be a better, more compassionate and more knowledgeable version of yourself. It has been an absolute pleasure to have you come on this journey with me and I hope that you never stop wanting to learn about the amazing world around you!
