A Sleepy Tree Climbing Koala in the Australian Forest

It was amazing to see how its everyday behavior helped it survive in the wild!

What can harm this creature or plant? Are we worried about it?:

Even though koalas look cuddly, life in the wild can be challenging. One of their biggest problems is losing their homes when forests are cleared to make room for roads, farms, and buildings. Cars can hit koalas when they travel between trees. Bushfires, extreme heat, and diseases can also put koalas in danger. Scientists and wildlife protectors are working to protect koalas by caring for injured animals and protecting and restoring the forests they need. We can help, too! People can protect trees, help prevent and control bushfires, and drive carefully in areas where koalas live. Koalas are listed as endangered in Queensland, which means we need to take their protection seriously. I hope that future hikers will have the same wonderful chance I had to see a wild koala in its home.
