Although I live in Aix-en-Provence, I frequently visit Marseille to see my friends and participate in activities, such as going to polyglotte club. The two cities are about 20 miles apart, depending on what part of each city you travel to/from. I would say this is the extent of my travel most weeks.
The picture in the postcard is from Notre-Dame de la Garde, a basilica built at the highest point of Marseille.
In October, I was lucky enough to visit my step-brother in Birmingham, UK, which is about 895 miles from Aix.
I go most places by foot, since I do not have a bus pass subscription. I am located about 15 minutes from the center of the city and 25 minutes from my university.
When I travel between cities, I take a bus or a shared-ride service. Thankfully, there is a reduced price for young people (those less than 26 years old) for the main bus that runs between Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, which is two euros (€2) and allows you to travel as many times as you want between the two cities. I will also use the metro when in Marseille.
