Traveler Bio

¡Hola todos! My name is Myrnalejandra, but everyone calls me Kiki. I’m from Laredo, Texas and this year, I’m studying in Monterrey, Nuevo León. I'll be working with Museo de la Historia Mexicana (Museum of Mexican History) to complete a project on a collection of old children's books called Biblioteca del Niño Mexicano (The Mexican Child's Library). In college, I studied English and Spanish Literature; I also worked in Museum Studies, and now I get to use all that learning to explore Mexican history up close!

I’ve always been curious about my cultural roots, and college deepened my love for Mexican history. Getting the chance to work directly with a museum collection that tells Mexico’s story is a dream come true. I've done all of this, having only visited 4 of Mexico's 31 states so far. I'll use my time studying in Mexico to get to know a couple more states!
