When I first came to Ifrane, I noticed very big birds making loud clacking sounds. These are called white storks. They fly to Morocco in the spring to stay warm. People protect them because they are special and believed to bring good luck.
A white stork is a very, very big bird! It's as tall as a first grader, and its wings are almost as wide as two first graders holding hands! Its body is mostly white, with black tips on its wings, a long red beak, and long red legs.
When it flies, it is graceful and strong. But when it walks on the ground, its long legs make it wobble, almost like it forgot how to walk from all the flying! To me, the most interesting part of the stork is its clacking sound, which you can hear from far away.
