Hola (Hello)! My name is Keyontae, and I am from St. Louis, MO. I spent most of my youth curious about learning and all the wonderful things that the world had to offer, which landed me at the University of Central Missouri. There, I studied sociology, which is pretty much the study of society and people. I have always had a curiosity for people, especially different cultures. After graduation, I worked for a corporate bank, learning the financial needs and struggles of people.
I wanted to understand how businesses work, so I went to Webster University and got an MBA (Master of Business Administration). Once I completed my MBA, there was something that I knew I needed to do. It was a dream of mine that I did not have the opportunity to fulfill in the past, but the moment I completed my MBA, I knew it was now or never.
In 2023, I joined the Peace Corps in Costa Rica as a Community Economic Development Volunteer, and it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made! As a Peace Corps Volunteer, I have gotten the opportunity to further my understanding of people and culture. i have navigated a completely different society, learned a different language, and have become a more well-rounded person. As we begin this journey of exploration, I am excited to see what you all will learn and take with you throughout the years!
Peace Corps Volunteers like me live and work side by side with community members around the world, collaborating on locally prioritized projects, building relationships, exchanging cultures and knowledge, and helping transform lives for generations. Learn more by clicking here.
