Traveler Bio

Chaco (Hi)! My name is Katrina, and I am a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) teaching English at an elementary school on La Palma, one of Spain's Canary Islands.  I love La Palma because it has the best of both beaches and mountains, just like where I am from. I grew up in California where I loved hiking and going to the beach with my family. For college, I moved to New Hampshire and I studied psychology and Spanish at Dartmouth.  While I was in college, I spent ten weeks studying Spanish in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I loved the experience and knew I wanted to live in another Spanish-speaking country after graduation. Believe it or not, I also interned at Reach the World! I connected first graders in New York city with travelers in other countries. At Reach the World, I learned about The Fulbright Program, which promotes intercultural understanding. I applied, and I feel so lucky to be a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant at an elementary school in Santa Cruz de La Palma this year.  I look forward to sharing this adventure with you!
