Umuneke is the Kinyarwandan word for "umbrella." It is a team-building game that requires everyone to work together.

I'll explain the rules. Two people in the class will be the judges and the rest of class has the objective of capturing the umuneke. There are two imaginary horizontal lines-the starting line (which is where the class starts) and the line for the judges about 50 feet ahead (which is where the judges stay). The judges are turned away from the class and the umbrella is lying on the ground behind them. The judges will go through several rounds of a 3-2-1 count down, and each time after they turn toward the class, they'll shout "Who has the umuneke?" While the judges are counting down, the class will go as far as they can toward the judges, making sure they are completely still by the time the judges are turned around (whoever is moving will have to go back to the starting line). When the class reaches the line of the judges, they will want to grab the umuneke (secretly, without letting the judges see, of course).

The objective is to get the umuneke back to the starting line without the judges being able to tell who has it. Now that the umuneke is in the hands of the class, after the judges' countdown and ask who has the umuneke, the judges will actually try to guess who has it. If you get called out and actually have the umuneke, the whole class has to restart. It works best if you use one of the longer umbrellas because it is difficult to hide. Once the class gets back to the starting line with the umuneke, they have won the game!
