How was the weather this week?:

It is currently summer in Namibia andthat means the rainy season, which brings a lot of thunderstorms. The weather has been warm but not too hot because it has generally been cloudy. Most of Namibia is a desert, so summers are very hot.

What animals did I see this week? :

There are a lot of shongololos or milipedes here. Milipedes are brown insects with a thousand legs who move their body like a snake. Shongololos come out when it rains, and we had a small thunderstorm on Monday, which is why there were suddenly so many milipedes. Apart from shongololos, my host family has two puppies, and they often escape to visit my apartment!

Other Nature News from this week:

Namibia is in a drought, meaning there has not been rain for a long period of time. This is a huge problem and, unfortunately, many farmers up North have lost crops and cows due to the lack of water for drinking and watering. We are hoping the rainy season will give some much-needed water to the farmers and their animals in Namibia.
