How far did I travel this week?:

I traveled pretty far this week. I traveled about seven hours, from Palestina to Guatemala City, for my flight on Saturday. We then took an hour-long flight and a 30-minute van ride to El Remate. To Tikal it took us about an hour in a van and 45 minutes on the way back to El Remate. From El Remate to Flores on Monday, it took us about 45 minutes. To go to the airport again on Tuesday, we took a 15-minute van ride, followed by the hour-long flight, and it took me about six hours to get back to Palestina again. In total, I traveled over 16 hours.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

I have spent probably over 100 hours traveling so far. That includes my flight from Minnesota to Florida for Peace Corps staging, which is two days of informational sessions and meeting your group of volunteers before leaving for the country, and my flight from Florida to Guatemala. This 100+ hours also includes bus rides during training, bus rides for field trips, bus rides for day trips on the weekends, bus rides for my site visits, bus rides from the Peace Corps office to Palestina and back, bus rides and car rides when my family visited me and we went to Antigua, one of the most famous cities in Guatemala, known for its colonial architecture (buildings that were built when Spain colonized Guatemala).
