To survive, the acacia tree has long roots that reach deep into the ground to find water during dry seasons. The small leaves help prevent water loss, and the thorns keep animals from eating too many of the leaves. Some Acacia trees even work together with ants who live in the tree’s thorns to protect it from other insects.
The acacia tree can be harmed by climate change. Climate change may cause long periods of drought, leading the trees to die. The trees are still very common and are thriving today, however, it is important to protect these trees because they provide food and shelter for animals, and they help keep the environment balanced.
