During the week, we traveled to the Great Wall of China by bus, which was a four-hour round trip. The experience included a 45-minute hike to the top, where we spent an hour taking in the views, followed by a scenic descent via chairlift with my friends.
At this stage of our journey, my group and I have explored more than eight cities, including Chennai, Varanasi, Agra, Delhi, Kyoto, Tokyo, Fuzhou and Xi’an. Our travels have taken us across two countries and through both southern and central China.
We relied on a combination of subways, public buses and walking to navigate the city. For trips to major historical sites, the subway was our primary choice, while we opted for buses for any journeys exceeding an hour.
The Forbidden City was truly a highlight for me, as was the experience of climbing a local hill to take in the panoramic views of the entire city.
