Hi class! It’s been a while since I arrived back in the United States and I am back in the Bay Area with my friends and family! However, while I did miss home, I enjoyed every minute of being abroad and the many new friendships and memories I created. Unlike other study abroad programs where they focus on one country, I was able to visit 5: Singapore, India, Japan, China and Taiwan. Not only did I learn new things in each location, but the fact that I still have so many stories and photos still left to share tells me that there are endless tales I can tell in the future.
When I first enrolled at the University of Puget Sound, I knew about the PacRim Program, but I also knew I only had one chance to compete for it since it happens every two years. Because of my passion for learning more about Asia (I grew up reading books and watching videos about the countries I have now visited!), I knew that I wanted to go.
That’s why I found support and resources whenever possible, as the best advice I got was to always ask questions because you never know what door could open when you do. It was through two fantastic scholarships that I got the chance to have my study abroad experience.
