When I first moved here, I learned that there is something called "Malaysian Time." This refers to the fact that many people are late! It's so hot and humid that people are in less of a rush to walk around or to go outside. For example, if a meeting starts at 1:00 p.m., people will show up at around 1:15 p.m. I had to get used to "Malaysian Time" because I would often show up to class early and be the only person in the room! Now I know to schedule everything about 15 minutes ahead of the time that I actually want it to begin.
